Jesus Verses Sin

0

Many people don’t realize that you can’t follow Jesus and sin at the same time. If you are following sin, declaring you are a sinner saved by grace, you are still following the father of sin rather than following Jesus. Jesus is following the Father of Lights and not sin. In the book of Revelation there’s a concept that is named for those who follow sinner saved by grace. In the book it’s called lukewarm. These people play both sides of the fence, both hot and cold.

John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Revelation 3:15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

In Joshua 7, Joshua learned the hard way of what happens when you have sin in the camp. Sin stopped the entire tribe of Israel from conquering Ai. Jesus warned about sin in the church as well. You might not understand this as it’s a parable. Jesus states that if your eye, hand or foot causes you to sin cut it off. Some who don’t have the understanding would take that literally. Paul further discussed this in 1 Corinthians 12 that if there is any part of the body of Christ who is sinning and doesn’t repent, take it to the elders. If this person continues to sin count the person as a heathen or a tax collector. They will not turn from sin which holds back the entire congregation from moving forward in Jesus.

Joshua 7:10 So the Lord said to Joshua: “Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face? 11 Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff.

Mark 9:43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched 44 where ‘Their worm does not die
And the fire is not quenched.’

1 Corinthians 12:15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? 18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. 19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be?

Matthew 18:15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ 17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.

Sin is devastation to those who have it. It will eat away at your mind, will and emotions. Sin can cause sickness and disease as well. Sin is so destructive to anyone’s life, that even the thought of sin should be repulsive. There is no life and peace in sin. Life and peace are in Jesus. Life in the spirit is the most amazing life to live. Jesus lived in the spirit, as well as the apostles. Unless you have experienced this life in the spirit, it’s hard to explain it. The only way I can explain it is like this. Imagine you placing your finger in a light socket, and a million volts rush through your body. It’s not a negative thing, but you feel so alive. I mean your so alive like you have never felt so alive before. I am only expressing what I have experienced ad I pray that this blesses others. Be blessed my friends.

John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
