Choke The Word

How many are you content with what you have? What are you striving for? I don’t know if you know this, but these are the motivations of your heart. How you live determines what you believe. For some, they live oblivious to God. Others, live their lives for themselves and believe doing church twice or three times a week is ok. Few who have found a new and living way, to live their lives every minute of every day sold out for the Kingdom. These never make it about themselves, but rather, about others. You can’t serve sin and God.

Romans 6:15 What then? Are we to sin because we are not under the Law but under graceFar from it16 Do you not know that the one to whom you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of that same one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?

The scriptures say, “Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.” People don’t realize that this is a tactic of the enemy so you won’t bear fruit worthy of repentance. Take a look at your life. See how many distractions the enemy has used against you so you don’t get out of the boat and walk on water to follow Jesus. Also, the word thorns in that scripture refers to the sons of darkness. You have heard the expression, “Be like the Jones?” It’s a term that when you look at what others have, you want the same or better. We are not in competition against each other. We are to help each other get across the finish line and receive the crown of life. The more you help others, the more My Father helps you.

Acts 26:19 Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, 20 but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.

James 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

I hope this helps you on your journey with Jesus. He is the best teacher you will ever have. Be sure to lean on Him for everything. Be blessed, my friends.
