One of our instructions is to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Where is the Lord? The Lord is not in the flesh, rather He is in the spirit. Our strength is to come from the spirit, not the flesh. When you look at the three temptations that Jesus endured, He conquered all three because He was strong in the spirit. Jesus is teaching me where our strength is to lie.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Have you ever noticed that your struggle doesn’t go away, or changes from time to time? It’s no secret that the enemy uses different tactics to keep you in the flesh. If you ever figure out that your strength is in the spirit, he is finished. The reason why he is finished coming against your spirit is not because of you, but the One you are joined within the spirit, Jesus. The enemy has lost every battle against Jesus, so we must be one with Him and live from the spirit. Do you understand now why Jesus said, “ Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.
Our strength is in the spirit. Everyone in church circles has heard, “The joy of the Lord is my strength,” quoting Nehemiah 8:10. Joy is a fruit of the spirit. Paul wrote an entire section of his letter to the Romans on the spirit, it’s Romans 8. Our victory over this world is our faith. Faith works through love, and God is love. Love is also a fruit of the spirit. Faith can only work if you are in the spirit. If your faith in the spirit is as tiny as a mustard seed, nothing will be impossible for you. Without this faith in the spirit, it’s impossible to please God. You are one with Jesus in the spirit, so faith works through Jesus in the spirit. If you try faith any other way, then you are not entering by the door. One thing I want you to remember, if you are born again by water and the spirit, you are no longer born of the flesh, but of spirit. Be blessed, my friends.
