Who are you walking with in this journey? Are those who you associate with, are they believers? Do they believe Jesus as you do? I ask you these questions because you will end up the same way with the people you hang around with. The church you attend, do they believe in repentance with baptism or prayer? This is very important. It’s how the bible is interpreted is from the eye in which you will see everything.

The bible does warn us about being unequally yoked with an unbeliever. There are many unbelievers in the church. They will confess that they believe, but their actions prove what they believe. The bible says that if we lay hands on the sick they will recover. It even goes as far as telling the church that the eldership prays for someone and anoints with oil that person will be healed. Do you see this evidence in your congregation, or do they use the excuse that it’s not God’s will that this person be healed. That is unbelief. It’s always God’s will to heal. if nothing happens, then it’s the person who is praying that there s an issue with, not the person receiving. When Jesus prayed for the man by the pool of Bethesda, that man didn’t even know who Jesus was.

Zealous Sign Up

James 5:13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believeIn My name they will cast out demonsthey will speak with new tongues18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Be Holy

If you are unequally yoked to someone who is not holy, you will become unholy as they are. This is why I asked all those questions in the beginning. A believer is holy, blameless and above reproach in God sight. Those who believe this are believers.

Colossians 1:21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through deathto present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

2 Corinthians 6:11 O Corinthians! We have spoken openly to you, our heart is wide open. 12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections13 Now in return for the same (I speak as to children), you also be open. 14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness (sin is lawlessness)? And what communion has light with darkness15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people
.”

17 Therefore

Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you
.”
18 I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty
.”

If you want to be holy then be yoked with Jesus. This is the invitation that He presents to all who believe in Him. We should present ourselves as holy.

Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes26 Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest29 Take MY YOKE upon you and LEARN FROM ME, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For MY YOKE is easy and My burden is light.”

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, HOLY, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable serviceAnd do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
