When you woke up this morning, you had to decide what you are wearing today. You decided by how your day was going to go, whether you are working or not. You do this everyday. What is done in the natural is also done in the Spirit. What are you wearing today? Are you wearing that you are a sinner or are you wearing the Righteousness of God?
Those who decide to wear that they are a sinner really doesn’t think about this as all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God as all where born into Adam. There are those who call themselves Christians (born again) that still confess that they are sinners. These are still wearing Adam (his image) as Adam sinned. Jesus explained this with wineskins. Mark 2:21 No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse. 22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins. The new wine in which Jesus is referring to is your righteousness. The new wineskin in which holds your righteousness is the new man. Ephesians 4:20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. The old wineskins is the old man in which you decide if this is how you want to get dressed. You can take this old man off and put on the new man but this is your decision, no one else can decide this for you. So how do you put on the new man?
Put on Christ
Romans 13:11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. The new man is Jesus. This is why we are to be born again as sin can’t be in Christ, only the righteousness of God can be and this is done by faith. Now you will understand that Romans 8:8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. What are you wearing sin or righteousness?
