When you are in a middle of a storm, it’s hard to the light. A storm is designed for you not to see the light. The storm has become your focus not the light. The strategy of the enemy is to get your focus off of the light and on the storm. Look at all the circumstances you have gone through. Did you look at the storm or the light? When Peter looked at the light, he didn’t sink when his eyes were on Jesus, but he sank as soon as he looked at the storm.
Matthew 8:25 Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” 26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
Matthew 14:25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”
Being in the spirit, you have peace in the middle of any storm. From the spirit, you can speak to any storm and it will calm down. Many think in their head that they are in the spirit, but if you speak to the storm and it doesn’t calm down, well, you are not in the spirit. Faith is not something you believe you have, it’s a knowing you have. This is why we are to test ourselves whether we are in the faith. I know that when a storm hits and you don’t respond in the spirit, but from the flesh, you are not in faith. Faith is an assurance that whatever you ask for, it will happen. If there is any doubt or unbelief, you are NOT in faith.
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
Let me give you a visual of what it is like in the middle of a storm while being in the spirit. It’s like you are in a bubble. The storm can’t affect you in the bubble. The bubble is like a shield of faith. Nothing can penetrate through the faith that you have. The fiery darts, the words that people say or do, can’t penetrate through your faith. Faith is not something you confess, but it’s something you become. Be blessed, my friends
Ephesians 6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, a proof of things not seen.
