I don’t know if you know this. but what Jesus taught most about here on earth is the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus is the only One who came down from Heaven to explain what it is like. The religious leaders of the day didn’t believe Him even after all the miracles that He did. Jesus came to show everyone who believes the way of righteousness which is the way of the Kingdom. Do you believe this?
Let’s look at some of what Jesus spoke regarding the Kingdom. Matthew 13:31 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, 32 which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”
What is Jesus saying regarding the Kingdom? The Kingdom of Heaven will grow in desert like conditions. Look at your body, would you consider it to be good soil for the Kingdom to grow? Have you grown into a tree where birds of the air (angels) come and wait for you to speak in the spirit?
Matthew 13:33 Another parable He spoke to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.”
When you put leaven into flour, it must be mixed thoroughly. You don’t want part of the mixture not to get any. Also, when mixed well, the dough grow faster.
Matthew 13:44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
When I read this I was reminded of the young rich man who would not give up all he had to enter the Kingdom of God. Mark 10:17 Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” 18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ” 20 And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.” 21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” 22 But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. When you know that the treasure of Heaven are greater than whatever you can get here on earth; you will sell all that you have to obtain that treasure.
Matthew 13:45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
When you search for the Kingdom of Heaven and find it, you will sell all that you have just to have it.
Matthew 13:10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” 11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. 13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. 14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:
‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
And seeing you will see and not perceive;
15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
Their ears are hard of hearing,
And their eyes they have closed,
Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.
