The eye is the lamp of the body. How you see and perceive everything determines how you act and react to every situation you encounter. Your love or hate of people and of things were given to you by someone or something. Ask yourself why you hate those people? Why do I hate those companies? Why do I love this person? Why do I love the area I live in? You see, it’s all from an eye that you see from. Your perception of God is the same way. Look at all the congregations out there. They all see the same words in the scriptures, but each one is from a different eye.
Matthew 6:22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
How you take in information and how it effects you, can be very temperamental to your life. Let’s take going to a doctor for an example. How would you react if the doctor told you that you had 3 months to live. Would this crush you? Or would a strength inside you rise up and say no! This is how Nate reacted to this news in this video.
Jesus came to this earth to bring good news of the Kingdom of God. Does the church that you go too keep you focused on the good news? Or is the eye of their understanding making you look elsewhere? Christians should be the most happiest people on the earth regarding this good news. I have heard one preacher say that this news is so good it boarders fantasy. Everyone on this earth is destined for hell. The good news is that someone else paid for your get out of hell card. Jesus just didn’t die for sins, He became sin to remove sin from you. All He asks in return is for you to believe in Him. It’s that simple. If you want this new life, believe Jesus died for your sins, repent, turn away from them and be born again into this new exciting life.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Romans 5:15 But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. 16 And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. 17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ
I don’t know if you have ever noticed this, but if you are looking a particular type of car to purchase which you haven’t had one before, all of a sudden you see those cars everywhere. You really didn’t notice it before, but once your focus is on that, you notice them a lot more. This is the same way with the scriptures. If your mind is set on a particular theology, those verses will stand out. When someone comes with a different understanding of the scriptures, they are seeing it through a different lens/eye. One thing that stands out for me, it is the truth that will make you free from sin as Jesus explained.
John 8:34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
Tree Of Righteousness
Once you have accepted this free gift, you get to reign in this life through Jesus Christ. You are now the righteousness of God that He may be glorified. We do this by faith as it is by grace you are saved through faith. This is such exciting news. Can you imagine, if you are a woman, you just received one of the most elegant dresses in the world for free. Would you try it on? Would you tell your friends how beautiful it is and you can’t wait to wear it. If you are a man. If someone came and gave you a Ferrari for free. Would you get rid of your old car and drive the new one? Would you tell your friends and take it for a spin. This good news of the Kingdom is greater than these. So my question is, have you heard the good news? You now get to put on the Lord Jesus and live in this life through Hum. That’s why He told us that we will do greater works than he did.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
Romans 13:11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
