Son Of Man

0

Throughout the gospels, Jesus refers to Himself as the Son of Man. What does that mean? Well, today the Lord told me what that meant. I have never heard this before. I shared it with a few friends and they haven’t heard it like that before either.

Matthew 20:27 And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

Before Adam ate of the tree, he walked in God’s image. After he ate from the tree, he lost that image. How do I know that? Look at his genealogy in Genesis 5. Adam is spoken about here as God’s likeness, not God’s image. Adam’s son Seth, who is in the genealogy of Jesus was created in the image of Adam, not God. Adam fell into sin from the temptation of the tree by the serpent through Eve. So Adam fell and everyone has been born into Adam’s image. Jesus came in differently than everyone else. Everyone came into this world through the seed of a man, but Jesus came into this world through a seed of a woman. It was the Holy Spirit who gave the seed to Mary. This way Jesus came into this world sinless, a perfect lamb. In other words, Jesus confessing that He is the Son of Man is proclaiming that He is in God’s image. He walked this earth proving that He carried the image of God telling His disciples that the Father is in Him. God is spirit so everywhere Jesus went He was a life-giving spirit. You don’t see too many people today walking in God’s image. When we invoke the Name of Jesus, we are proclaiming God’s image. If nothing happens when you invoke His Name, my question to you is, Are you in Christ? It’s ALWAYS God’s will to heal. He loves people. Your flesh is in the way.

Genesis 5:1 This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of GodHe created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created. And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.

John 14:9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

Here is something for you to ponder. It’s from the Lord’s prayer. “Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from the evil one.” As long as you have breath, you will be tempted. The same temptation that Jesus faced in the wilderness was the same when He was on the cross. “If you are the Son of God.” It’s how you react to the temptations that are the key. That is why Jesus taught us to love our enemies. If you hate your enemies, that’s a temptation to trap you in the flesh. Do you notice that all the temptations are against your flesh and not the spirit? The devil always wants to knock on that door of flesh because he believes that you love yourself more than God. Jesus taught His followers to deny themselves. James even writes to resist the devil by submitting to God. I hope this helps you understand why you are going through the things that you are. Be blessed, my friends

Matthew 4:6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”

Matthew 27:39 And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads 40 and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”
