How do you see yourself? Do you see yourself as unworthy or worthy of Jesus? When you look in a mirror, do you see someone who will follow Jesus at any cost? Are you willing to give up everything for Him? It’s hard for a rich man to enter the Kingdom. “Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” He said to Him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?” Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Some will try to convince themselves that we shouldn’t exalt ourselves using scripture. “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” What if God gave you so much grace and favor that you can move mountains? “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.” What if He gave you the spirit of faith that you can do exceeding and abundantly ask or think? “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” “To another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,” If you are truly operating in the mind of Christ, you can do all things. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Never see yourself as lower than what God has for you. He has called you to be united with Jesus. It’s through that union we are to see ourselves. “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” It’s our common union with Christ, communion. All that is His is mine, and all that is mine is His. This is what love looks like.

Don’t sell yourself short, my friends. You are created in Christ, so live like that. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Be blessed, my friends.
