Romancing The Stone

You may ask yourself, “What does romancing the stone have to do with Christianity?” Everything, when you understand that Jesus is the stone. In one of the parables, Jesus refers to the Kingdom of heaven as a great pearl. Many don’t know that Jesus is that pearl. If you are in a love relationship with someone, and you love them so much. You would do anything for them. That would be considered a fleshly love affair. How much more is love in the spirit? I can tell you that the greatest love affair you ever had with someone is no comparison with the love affair you will have with Jesus!

1 Peter 2:4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”

Matthew 13:44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

I have never heard of a person ever giving their lives up for another because of their love for them. You may see this in times of war, but other than that I have never heard anyone giving up their life freely as Jesus did. Many believe that Jesus was in anguish before the cross, praying for Father to take this cup away from Him. I can tell you Jesus wasn’t in anguish because of the cross, that was a delight for Him. He was disturbed because for the first time, He was going to be separated from His Father. Jesus was about to prepare an open door for His bride to come in. He had to leave Father so He can be joined to His bride (the church). Do you see how intimate this relationship that we have with Jesus is? We are one with Him in the spirit. Jesus’s death opened the door for His bride to enter where He is in the spirit. Jesus did this of His own free will and we are to do the same, of our own free will.

John 10:14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. 17 “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

John 10:7 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

Being joined with Jesus is n the spirit of the heart. When the seed of the Kingdom enters you, that seed will grow. That seed is the Word of God (Jesus). Many assume that because the word says. “The Kingdom of heaven,” the seed is referring to the scriptures, but it’s not. The seed is love. Check out the parable of the sower explained for yourself. The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of love as God is love. Love is the more excellent way. The Kingdom of heaven is also a Kingdom of righteousness, Jesus is the King of righteousness. It’s unfortunate that many have and will reject this stone. Jesus is the cornerstone that many religious people then and now will reject. When your house (life) is built on the rock (Jesus), the storms in your life can’t move you away from Him because you have built your life in Him. This is the greatest love story ever told. I hope that you will participate in this love story and not be left out like the 5 unwise virgins who thought they were saved but didn’t prepare themselves for the coming of their bridegroom, the King. Be blessed, my friends.

Psalms 45:6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.

Hebrews 7:1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.
