It’s ironic that the church teaches that born again believers are still sinners but it’s the very thing we are to war against. We are to submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee. I don’t think many of you know who we are really warring against. You are either on the side of sin which is the devil as he is the father of sin or side of Righteousness as Jesus is the king of Righteousness.

It is sad today that many will use excuses to be in sin or their lack of faith. Just as Adam and Eve did, blaming the other for their mistakes, many today still do the same. With this lack of faith is actually sin. Romans 14:23 But the one who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin. This is why those who are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus live by faith. Romans 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ā€œThe righteous shall live by faith.ā€

Now you might understand the struggle that is written in Romans 6 and 7. We must always fight against sin in our lives. It’s the good fight of faith. The enemy will always try to test you, but the more you walk with Jesus the easier it gets. Our greatest weapon we have against sin is the fruit of the spirit. One in particular is self-control. Without self-control the enemy will have a hay day over you. Proverbs 25:28Ā Like a city that is broken into and without walls, So is a person who has no self-control over his spirit.

Your war IS NOT against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers who have built cities and countries making sin acceptable. You are to go and forgive sins which will break the power over these cities and countries. That’s what Jesus did. Hebrews 12:3Ā For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. 4Ā You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.
