New Covenant

0

There are many who don’t not know what the new convent really is. The prophet Jeremiah prophesied what this new covenant will look like. When you really look at it, you will discover many gems in what he said. This new covenant is also mentioned in Hebrews 8 and 10. Lets look at this together so we can all grow up into Jesus.

Jeremiah 31:31 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

Zealous Sign Up

The first we will look at is the laws will be written in your minds and in your hearts. Many will think that this will be done by reading the scriptures. Others will try to find other ways for this. One thing that I have learned regarding the scriptures is the the answers are not in plain sight. If it was that simple, the devil would have figured things out and not have killed Jesus. The writing of the laws in your mind and heart, I believe is of the spirit. The reason I believe this is that Paul tells the church in Ephesus, “To be renowned in the spirit of your mind,” and he told the church in Rome regarding the circumcision of the heart which is of the spirit.

Ephesians 4:23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

Romans 2:28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; 29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.

John4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

Next we will examine what I believe is the most important part of the new covenant, “For all will know Me.” I don’t know too many Christians who would say that they know Father. One thing I do know, the enemy has done a good job misrepresenting Father to the world. The world blames Him, complains to Him, condemns Him and crucified Him. In 1 John, the enemy has peoples eyes on 1 John 1:8, avoiding that fellowship is mentioned 4 times. In 1 John 2, the word abide is mentioned 10 times. In John 15, John writes that Jesus tells us that He is the vine and we are the branches. That is very intimate. You are joined to Him. Looking back up at Jeremiah, Father was a husband to the people that came out of Egypt. Today, He wants the same for His people. He wants to be in peoples hearts to love them and to know Him. Also in John 17, Jesus prays for all believers that they be One with Father and Himself. This is the good news.

John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to youAbide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

John 17:20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:

1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

The last one I want to focus on is, “I will remember your sins no more.” This is one of the biggest stumbling blocks in the church today. Many can’t see themselves past their sins, even though they have repented and turned away from it. This is not a mistake that this is a stumbling block. If this stumbling block wasn’t there, you would have an incredible relationship with Jesus.

Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

Hebrews 10:17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.
