There has been many who have come against this Name. There are those who profit from this Name. There are those who use His Name in vain. But when all is said and done, all will bow to the Name of Jesus either in this life or when you pass away. All will sit on His judgement seat.
A while ago I had an atheist trying to argue with me regarding an issue he had. His issue was the fact that a humanitarian doctor who went out doing good wouldn’t be going to Heaven and yet a murderer who asked for forgiveness for what he did would be going to Heaven. He just couldn’t understand this. I mentioned to him that, how can you be upset over that? Why would a doctor who doesn’t believe in Heaven be going as he doesn’t believe in the first place. It’s not about what you do, but believe.
Then there are those who believe in His Name but because of the hardness of their heart won’t accept His forgiveness. These are those who are born again believer’s and yet still haven’t turned away from their sins. They still call themselves sinners as they believe that because they are still in the flesh, they are sinful. What’s crazy to me is the fact that those who say this are confessing that the blood of Jesus wasn’t strong enough to cleanse them of sin. Let that sink in.
The Name of Jesus is so powerful that Peter used it and a lame man was healed. Acts 3:1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God. 10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. Now as people then did so do the people today believe that the Apostles had a special power and this died with the Apostles. They just don’t believe that the Name of Jesus has any power and yet they say they have faith. Faith in what? Acts 3:14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
So my question to you is, what do you put your faith in?
