Many don’t realize the difference between living in the spirit and living in the flesh. We all have been taught to live in the flesh so that concept is easy for anyone to live. Living in the spirit is the opposite to living in the flesh. How do i know this? Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Jesus was trying to teach His disciples how to live in the spirit when He taught. There are still some followers out there that haven’t picked up on that concept yet. Living from the spirit, living from the Kingdom of God is the same thing. Romans 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Here is a video of Matthew 5:19 to Matthew 6:23 to show you what I am talking about.
There is another aspect of how you can determine if you live from the spirit or live by the flesh. Living by the flesh you can operate from any of these attributes; Colossians 3:8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds.
These are those who live by sight, but those who live from the spirit live by faith. 2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. Those who live in the spirit have died to themselves. Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Once you have died to yourself, you get to pick up Jesus’ free gift of righteousness. Romans 5:17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Once you have picked up Jesus’ righteousness, then you follow righteousness 1 Timothy 6:11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
What does living in the spirit sound like to you? To me it sounds like this; Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
