The reason that we have this mind in us is because we live from His mind not ours. If we carry the Name of the Lord Jesus in our body, why would you think of yourselves different than being equal with Jesus? Did John not write, “As He is so are we in this world.” So if we can’t see ourselves as He is, how will we ever walk as He walked?

2 Corinthians 4:10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

1 John 4:17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

Philippians 2 verses 5 to 8 tells us that we are to have the mind of Christ. I find it fascinating that it reads different from the Greek to the NKJV. What I am about to share with you will drastically change our walk with the Lord. It’s not about what Jesus can do for us, but we do for Him. If you have this mindset, all things will be possible for you. It’s not just about your mind be renewed in the spirit, rather also your heart changed from a heart of stone to a heart of flesh.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesuswho, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with Godbut made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of menAnd being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

From the Greek this verse reads – Philippians 2:7 but Himself emptied, [the] form of a servant having taken, in [the] likeness of men having been made.

Ephesians 4:23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

1 Corinthians 2:16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Do not consider it robbery to equal with God as Jesus did. Are you not in His Image? Is it not written in the law that you are god’s? Philip didn’t understand Jesus walking with Father. He told Jesus, “Show us the Father.” Jesus had emptied Himself and filled Himself with Father, but people couldn’t recognize this. For us the mystery is Christ in you, the hope of glory. The works Jesus did wasn’t Him that did it, but Father in Him.

John 10:34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’?

Psalms 82:6 I said, “You are gods, And all of you are sons of the Most High

John 14:8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

Colossians 1:27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

When you empty yourself and are filled with Jesus / Holy Spirit, you are actually carrying Jesus’s Name. When you take on the Name of Jesus, you become His bride just as a wife takes on her husbands Name. The wedding feast is in heaven, but the actual marriage happens here on earth in front of many witnesses that you are baptized in His Name.

Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

1 Corinthians 6:15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Jesus was taken by the spirit into the wilderness to prove that he had emptied Himself. The devil tempted Jesus, “If you are the Son of God.” Sons of God empty themselves and are filled with Holy Spirit / Jesus. All the temptations that comes against you is to see if you have emptied yourself. You may ask yourself, “Why is emptying yourself so important.” Look at the prerequisite to follow Jesus. What is the very first thing you must do? Deny yourself! By denying yourself, you are in fact emptying yourself so you can be filled with Jesus / Holy Spirit. Taking up your cross has nothing to do regarding the flesh. Taking up your cross is picking up Jesus’s righteousness and putting it on. This is the new wineskin. Without putting on Jesus’s righteousness, the Holy Spirit in you can’t he sustained. This is why Jesus told His disciples that new wine must be put in new wineskins.

Matthew 9:17 Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.

Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

Ephesians 4:24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

Romans 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

Emptying yourself is resisting the devil. By resisting him, you are submitting to God.

James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from youDraw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-mindedLament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
