Christians must learn to walk in Peace. This isn’t their peace, but the peace of Christ. “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” Jesus is the light of the world. Let His light shine through you. His light is peace. “Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” “Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.”
Jesus taught us that we can have peace in the middle of a storm. When your life is built on the peace of Christ, it doesn’t matter what comes against you, the peace of Christ rules in your heart. “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” If you believe you are one with Jesus, you are one with Him in the heart. “For circumcision is indeed profitable if you keep the law; but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision? And will not the physically uncircumcised, if he fulfills the law, judge you who, even with your written code and circumcision, are a transgressor of the law? For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.” “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” When the peace of Christ rules in your heart, all it can do is come out of you. This is the gospel that we are to preach, the gospel of peace. Jesus gave us His peace. “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Jesus taught us how we should walk in peace. “And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food. Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out. And when you go into a household, greet it. If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”
I pray that the eyes of your understanding be enlightened to the peace of Christ. Almost all of the epistles open with grace and peace. Be blessed, my friends.
