How you see yourself has a big impact on how you love God and others. One of the biggest things that I have found in today’s church is the lack of receiving God’s love. Churchgoers can’t even see themselves forgiven of all sin, not receiving God’s love for themselves making it difficult for them to love others. If you can’t receive, how can you give? The seed of love has been sown, but the cares of this world or the deceitfulness of riches choke this love. This becomes a stronghold that God doesn’t love me. If life isn’t going well for them, they become a train wreck, not being able to serve the Lord or even others. Can you see what the enemy does to stop you from loving God and others?

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

Those who live in the flesh judge according to the flesh. Instead of seeing everyone as sinners, see them as an opportunity for the Kingdom of God to shine in their lives. This is the goodness of God that leads men to repent. Seeing yourself under guilt, condemnation or shame is the same way you see others. Take a look in the mirror. Can you see Christ in you? Keep looking every day until you see Him. When you see Jesus in you, then you have the opportunity to see Him in others. You will know a tree by its fruit. You will know if people are of Christ by their love.

Romans 2:4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Changing how you see yourself and loving yourself opens the door to loving others. Rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks for God’s love for you will emulate to others what you have received. This is the light that you are to shine before men, your love for God. Everything you do, you do for the glory of God. I hope you now understand that this is the reason why we pray in Jesus’ Name. It’s to bring Him glory, to glorify His Name on the earth. Proving He is still alive and sharper than any two-edged sword. Be blessed, my friends.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Matthew 5:15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

John 12:28 Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again
