Flesh Profits You Nothing

The flesh profits you nothing is a concept that many Christians still have not got a hold of yet. I have heard many say that we are sinners because we are in the flesh, even though we are spiritual beings first. Jesus came to give us life and it more abundantly. He gave us of Himself, a life-giving spirit. Those who are of the flesh cannot please God.

John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

Romans 8:8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Here is something for you to consider. If sin is death and the spirit is life and peace, why do most born-again believers choose death (sin) over life (spirit)? Those who say they have the spirit, do you see them living in righteousness, peace, and joy? If they have those attributes, they are in the Holy Spirit. If they don’t, well, then they are not. I say these things to provoke your thinking because there is a more excellent way, and that way is not a sinner saved by grace.

Romans 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 5:9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),

When Paul talked about love in 1 Corinthians 13, did you notice that if you love someone from the flesh it profits you nothing. In verses 4 to 8, we see how love acts from the spirit. God created the church to be a spirit being, you can see that in 1 Corinthians 12. In other words, if the church acts or professes that they are sinners saved by grace, God can’t work through sin. If nothing is happening in the church when they pray, they tend to resort to unbelief by saying, ”I guess it wasn’t God’s will too heal.” It’s always My Father’s will to heal, He just can’t work through unbelief. The disciples understood that the hard way. Be blessed my friends.

1 Corinthians13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbalAnd though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothingAnd though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

1 Corinthians13:4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed updoes not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provokedthinks no evildoes not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truthbears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails

Matthew 17:14 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.” 17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
