If you begin to see faith as a wedding ring, this will change your whole perspective regarding faith. You are joined with Jesus as one in the spirit. This is done by faith. 1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
If all you do is see yourself as a fleshly being, how will you ever be one with Jesus in the spirit? How do you worship God as God is spirit? John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. How do you hear Jesus if you are not in the spirit? John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. Do not let anyone rob you of what Jesus paid for! If you went out and bought a house and paid good money for it, you know that it is worth it. No different than you! Jesus died as you because He believes you are worth it. 1 Corinthians 6:20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
When you realize that Jesus is in you and you are in Jesus, you will begin to understand that you are married to Him NOW!! It’s not about a point in time where you will be caught up into heaven, but you can have Him now! Nothing but you can hinder this. Hebrews 13:5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” This love He has for you is so extreme that He is willing to be hung on a cross, to remove sin that is killing you. That is radicle! All He asks is for you to believe in Him. Peter actually sums up the gospel in this one verse. 1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. As I said in the beginning, Jesus died as you, but you are the one who has to believe that. Paul explains that you are dead to sins this way. Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God IN Christ Jesus our Lord. Being alive to God, you have to divorce sin. See yourself separate from it. One of my favorite books in the Bible is Leviticus. When you read this book, you will notice that Father keeps mentioning, “If you sin” not when. The devil loves it when the people of God use the Bible against themselves. Look at 1 John 1:8. Some churches believe this verse is telling you, you are a sinner. Who is the father is sin? The devil is. Three verses after 1 John 1:8 is 1 John 2:1. The way this chapter starts out is like 1 John is one big letter. What is striking about this verse is that it mentions “If you sin,” not when, like Leviticus! 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And IF anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
I wrote all this ground work to show you that when you believe that you are dead to sin, you get to pick up Jesus’ righteousness, put Him on, and live by faith. These verses will explain this. Romans 3:24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Romans 1:17 For in it (the gospel) the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: “But the righteous one will live by faith.”
There aren’t many who discuss this, but we are to examine ourselves whether we are in faith. 2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified. How do you do this? You can confess you have faith, but that means nothing. There is always evidence to faith. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. Now you may think that seems harsh. I have faith, but when I pray for someone nothing happens. It must not be God’s will. Jesus is God’s will revealed. If you see it in Jesus’ life then it should be in ours. This very thing happened to the disciples in Matthew 17 and Jesus told them it was because of their unbelief. Matthew 17:14 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.” 17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. So we see that if you have faith of a mustard seed nothing will be impossible for you!
Keep going after Jesus! Never give up on the One you love! Be Blessed friends. 1 Timothy 6:11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses
