Choose

In life we get to make many choices. We can choose what job we want, where we want to live, a spouse. Life is all about choices and making the right ones. Eventually we will all have to answer for the choices we make, but are you making the choices for this life or the next? You can have all of what this world has to offer, but are you truly happy in your heart.

In the bible, it tells us that we should choose life over death. Who wouldn’t want that. Do you really know what that means? The bible does say that sin is death and Jesus is life. In other words, living from your flesh is death and living from the spirit is life and peace. You may say, “Ok, I will live from the spirit.” When circumstances of life comes against you, this will determine if you live from the flesh or the spirit. These circumstances are to build you up, but if you live in the flesh, they will tear you down. Those who have built their lives up in the spirit (Jesus) will never be knocked down from whatever life throws at them. If something that has come against you train wrecked you life, pick up your life and build it back up in the Lord.

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Matthew 7:24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

There are other ways that if you have chosen life, it can be taken away from you and you don’t even know it. Jesus used a parable to explain this. His disciples didn’t understand the parable, so He explained it to them. When you read the explanation, think of what your life is going through. The cares of this world. Your home, finances, health, job or anything else in this world including relationships. How all of these things come against the kingdom in you, but you think they are against you, making you live from the flesh rather than the spirit where you could profit 30,60 or even 100 fold.

Matthew 13:18 “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone HEARS THE WORD of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who HEARS THE WORD and immediately receives it with joy21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who HEARS THE WORD, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who HEARS THE WORD and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

After you have listened to that 2 minutes video, there is more to what happen with Jesus than was explained. Yes Jesus’ cousin gets his head chopped off, and yes Jesus went out and prayed for people. When you read further in the scriptures, Jesus did much more than that while in the spirit. Right after He prayed for people, He fed 5000 people and walked on water right after His cousins head was chopped off. This is the struggles that we are in and we do need to learn to be delighted in Jesus.

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
