When I was young, this stood out to me. I was an alter boy in the Catholic church. I would serve in the mass everyday, but Saturday. I did this for years until I was 16. The Lord radically changed me in my 50’s. He told me to read His word, as I did would read my rule book in the sport I was officiating in. The title of the blog would come up every now and again. I went to see how many times this is written in the scriptures. It is written seven times. I was surprised. I came across this today in my reading and He began to explain this to me.
The Lord explained to me that those who are in the name of the Lord are blessed in what they do. Many will believe that they are in His Name and yet they don’t see the evidence when they pray. If you pray in the Name of Jesus and nothing happens, then you are not in His name. Jesus can NEVER deny His Name, He can’t deny Himself.
Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.
Have you ever noticed that when you are married to someone you take on his name? The husband and wife have the same last name. Through baptism you are born into His Name, you take on His Name and you now live by His Name. Now you may understand why it is written, “Blessed is he who comes in the Name of the Lord.”
Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
