Many of us have been taught to not to go after principalities and powers in the 2nd heaven. These same people believe that Jesus never did this. Here is a video of what I am talking about. Somewhat to what he said is true but I want to show you something that the Lord taught me about this very subject. I had someone prophecy to me that I would be teaching people about spiritual warfare. What I am interested in is to get the truth out there. That’s why I started the blog site. I am not one for “people look at me, look what I can do.” I am not here for me, I am here for Him and do what He tells me to do.

The first thing you have to realize is that demons, principalities and powers have no power. They have to get power from somewhere. These are points of covenant on the earth. Let me give you an example. If there is an abortion clinic around you, the babies that are being killed empower evil spirits. If you are in a relationship out of a covenant, you are empowering evil spirits. These parasites feed off of what is evil. This is why these fleshly acts empower them. I am going to give you a couple of examples of how Jesus did this. I want you to remember this. Colossians 2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

If you aren’t paying attention, you might have missed this one. When He showed this to me, I was blown away. This starts in Mark 5. When Jesus came to the Gadarenes He met a man who was demon possessed. This is the man who had a legion of demons. After he was set free, what happened to the man? Mark 5:18 And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. 19 However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” 20 And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled. So the principality and power over the region of Decapolis is now broken. What happens two chapters later? Mark 7:31 Again, departing from the region of Tyre and Sidon, He came through the midst of the region of Decapolis to the Sea of Galilee. 32 Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him33 And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. 34 Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” 35 Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. 36 Then He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they proclaimed it. 37 And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.” Now you see what happens when principalities and powers are broken from their source of power.

Here is another example of how Jesus won a city. This is story of the woman at the well. First thing that Jesus did wrong according to church customs is to associate with a unbeliever. Even back then they were not to associate with Samaritans. John 4:7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. What is interesting is what Jesus asked her even though He knew the answer in which He told her that He knew. John 4:16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.” 17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ 18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.” From this Jesus declares who He is. John 4:25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He. She leaves her water pot, goes into the city and tells everyone to come and see the man who told me everything about me. John 4:39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of His own word. 42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.” This is how you defeat principalities and powers with the gift of words of knowledge.

There are many other examples in how Jesus and the Apostles defeated principalities and powers. You can do this too. Here is your proof. Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Jesus told us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel of the Kingdom. Matthew 10:7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Here is Dr. Lester Sumrall talking about some of these very things.

People don’t even realize that Jesus condemned those principalities and powers over different cities. Don’t believe me? Well here you go. Matthew 11:13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 14 And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come.15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear! 16 “But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions, 17 and saying:

‘We played the flute for you,
And you did not dance;
We mourned to you,
And you did not lament.’

18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”

Woe to the Impenitent Cities

20 Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes22 But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day24 But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.”

Jesus Gives True Rest

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes26 Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

When you take over a city or a region for Christ, everything gets easy. Be Blessed friends!
