Today many believe that we are all created in the image of God. That is far from the truth. We have all been born into Adam, not into God. When Adam sinned, he lost the image of God. “This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, HE MADE HIM IN THE LIKENESS OF GOD. He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created. And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and BEGOT A SON IN HIS LIKENESS, AFTER HIS IMAGE, and named him Seth.” Everyone today is born into the image of Adam, sin. This is why we must be born again. “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Jesus is the firstborn in the image of God. “HE IS THE IMAGE IF THE INVISIBLE GOD, the firstborn over all creation.” We are being transformed into His image. “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, ARE BEING TRANSFORMED INTO THE SAME IMAGE FROM GLORY TO GLORY, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” Those who don’t know the true gospel, their eyes are blinded from this truth. “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, LEST THE LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL OF THE GLORY OF CHRIST, WHO IS THE IMAGE OF GOD, SHOULD SHINE ON THEM. For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the GOD WHO COMMANDED LIGHT TO SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS, WHO SHONE IN OUR HEARTS TO GIVE LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST. But WE HAVE THIS TREASURE IN EARTHEN VESSELS, THAT THE EXCELLENCE OF THE POWER MAY BE IN GOD and not of us.” Here is the difference between Adam and Jesus. “The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, WE SHALL BEAR THE IMAGE OF THE HEAVENLY MAN.” “ Do not lie to one another, since you have PUT OFF the old man with his deeds, and have PUT ON the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to THE IMAGE OF HIM WHO CREATED HIM, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.”
