We all know that those who follow Jesus have victory in His Name. I am going to show you how Jesus got victory in a way which you might have not seen before. We know that Jesus has victory but the way in which He did this might elude you if you aren’t paying attention.

This all started when Herodias daughter dance for King Herod and this pleased him. This was Herod’s birthday. He gave her an oath that she could have whatever she wanted, up to half of his kingdom. She didn’t know what to ask for so she asked her mother to what should i ask for. Her mother answered “the head of John the Baptist on a platter.” Herod was sad but because of his oath, he gave the girl what she wanted and had John beheaded. For those who don’t know, John is Jesus cousin. When Jesus heard this, He went by boat to a deserted place.

When Jesus went to the deserted place, a multitude of people heard this, they followed Him. Many people came from the surrounding cities to where Jesus was. Jesus had compassion on the people and healed their sick there. As the day started to get late, the disciples asked to send the multitude away so they can get something to eat. Jesus told them “you give them something to eat.’ They said that they only had 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Jesus told the disciples to make the people sit down, so they did. Jesus took the 5 loaves and the 2 fish, gave thanks and the disciples distributed it to the people. There was five thoudand men not including women and children.

Now Jesus made His disciples get into a boat to go to the other side before Him while He sent the people away. Once this was complete Jesus went on the mountain to pray. In the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them walking on the sea. They thought it was a ghost. Jesus told them not to be afraid. Peter being bold asked if this is You command me to cone to you on the water. Jesus told Peter “Come.” So Peter walked on water but he paid attention to the storm that they were sailing through that he began to sink and asked the Lord to save him. So Jesus reached His had and caught him. He said to Peter,”O you of little faith, why did you doubt.” When they got into the boat, the wind stopped and Peter said,” Truely You are the Son of God.”

Now you are considering where the victory in Jesus is. Remember when His cousin John had his head cut off? Jesus didn’t respond like people would. He didn’t go after Herod. He knew Herod wasn’t the enemy. The spirit controlling Herod is. Jesus responded in the spirit by healing the sick in the desert place. But that wasn’t just it. Right after Jesus feed the five thousand men and walked on water. Our victory in Jesus is in the spirit. Jesus is a great example of that. This is why we are a new creation. We are created to live in the spirit. This is where our victory is.
