Have you ever heard someone preach that you must do what is good or do what is right? This is the very thing that we are to do but I don’t see this being taught. Yes I do see the church doing good things like feeding people and visiting people in hospital or lending a hand to others, but I am talking about a persons relationship with Father. Have you seen the Kingdom of God working through people? Have you seen a person healed? Have you seen a leper healed? Have you seen the dead raised or have you seen demons cast out? All is of the flesh but the Kingdom of God is of the Spirit. Matthew 10:7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
This is what I am talking about. Have you seen the Goodness and Kindness of God working through the Spirit as both are fruits of the Spirit? These work through people who walk in the Spirit. You can tell these people as they want nothing in return as do this out of Love. If you are going out and doing what is good or doing what is right in front of people you already have your reward. You have more of a impact when the Lord works through you and you walk away. Some might think that we need them to come to church. I have made that mistake before. This isn’t about filling a church. This is about advancing the Kingdom of God.
There is a place in scriptures that talks about doing what is good and doing what is right. It’s Deuteronomy 6:18 And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land of which the Lord swore to your fathers. Now when you look at this scripture, you might think “possess the good land” means physical land. It did in the Old Covenant but it doesn’t in the New Covenant. The good land in the New Covenant is in the Spirit. If you want your reward to be land here on earth, all the power to you. But if you want your land in Heaven, then it’s in the Spirit. Jesus said that I am going to prepare a place for you John 14:3. So do you want your reward here or in Heaven?
Remember, when you are doing what is good or what is right, it’s for the person who is receiving and it’s from Father and not you. You are only the messenger (ambassador), a representation of the Kingdom of God. You are here to bring Glory to His Name, not yours just like Jesus did for Father. Here is what Jesus did and you are following His example. Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
