And those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
There are many ways that you can take that particular verse. Let me elaborate for you. Many will think that this is referring to what comes out of your mouth. Yes that is true. What if there is power to what others say to you? Look at what is going on today in society. How the landscape is changing in thought patterns. These are all changing by the spoken words of another. These words can have power over you, if you let them. No different than your thought patterns you have now.
There are many who suffer from depression, anxiety and other illness that were caused by a thought pattern. These thought patterns are voices that are injected and you don’t even realize it. Do you really think that every thought you have is from you? 2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
There are some who don’t believe in speaking in tongues. This is a prayer language that you may not understand but Paul did say, “I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all.” 1 Corinthians 14:18. If Paul said to, “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ,” then this is something for us to do today.
I want to look at this particular verse. It’s quoted quite a bit, but it’s only the first part. I want you to see the power in which words have. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord
Jesus put a lot of power in your tongue, if you have chosen to live by faith. Mark 11:23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
