This has boggled my mind for years. Jesus came to pay the price for sin, once forever, but it seems that the church has given a license to sin to all those who believe their message that, “we are sinners.” Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
To me anyway, sinner saved by grace is a oxymoron. Jesus came to save sinners, who Paul says, he is the worst before knowing Christ; and yet if you are saved from sins, how are you still a sinner? 1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 16 However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. Was the blood not strong enough for you? There are those who will twist 1 John 1:8 for their benefit to keep themselves a sinner. interesting that sin was the very thing that separated Adam from God and these people want to stay separated?
Let’s look at 1 John 1:8. 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Notice that this doesn’t say you are a sinner. It reads,” if you say you have no sin!” Why would it say if you say you have no sin, hmm. Oh, maybe this has to do with the verse before, let me check. Lookie, lookie what I found. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son CLEASNES US FROM ALL SIN. In other words, if you believe you don’t need Jesus forgiveness which He paid for by His blood, then you deceive yourself and the truth is not in you. When you look at 1 John 1:8 and read the entire verse, if you change the meaning of the first part, then you have to change the rest. in other words, those who believe they are sinners by this verse is saying that the truth is in sin. This has become a tradition of men which makes the word of God of no effect.
