The struggles that we face are here to harden your heart towards others. The enemy will use the closest people to you. They are the ones who you trust the most. If you can love regardless of what comes against you, this is how you defeat the enemy. It’s all about your heart. I speak to this as one with experience. The bible tells me I can divorce my wife because of sexual immorality, but my heart says no.
Matthew 19:4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” 7 They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?” 8 He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. 9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”
Let the peace of Jesus rule in your heart. This is the softening. As circumstances come against you, you will find the peace of Jesus grows in your heart because you don’t react like everyone else.. As this grows, people will begin to see the fruits of the spirit coming out of you like a light that is shown before men. It begins with the circumcision of the heart in the spirit, and you grow from the heart. Don’t let circumstances control you, control the circumstance.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Romans 2:28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; 29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.
