In Matthew 13, Jesus tells of the parable of the sower as well as explaining what the parable means. I am going to take you deeper into that parable and open it up for you as the Lord opened that parable for me. I get so excited when He explained it to me that I have to reveal it to you. This is how we are to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God. It is revealed to me so I share it with you.
Here is the parable of the sower; Matthew 13:3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. 8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
This is the patable explained, Matthew 13:18 “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
Many of us would be satisfied with the explanation of the parable. What if there is a deeper answer to this parable? Let me share with you what the Lord shared with me. First thing we have to understand when Jesus says, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear,” at the end of the parable in Matthew 13:9, He is speaking from the spirit. To understand, you have to be in the spirit to comprehend it. That’s why Jesus told the seven churches in Revelations 2:7 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” If you don’t have ears to hear Jesus who is the Word of God, how can you understand the parable. This is why the first thing mentioned in the explanation of the parable is; Matthew 13:18 “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.
Now, when the Lord opens up the scriptures to you, you always receive it with joy as I did when He opened this up to me. I also know that the enemy always comes immediately to steal that word. He uses family members or circumstances to steal what was sown in your heart. I will give you an example of a circumstance where the enemy has stolen my wife from me to stop the word from growing in me. The Lord has given me the word that my wife and I will be back together. So do I fret and worry this is not going to happen, or do I press in and believe what He has told me. I have chosen the latter. I have built my house strong in the Lord and the power of His might, not mine. This is where the shield of faith is crucial. You have to be so rooted in Him for Him to give you anything as He knows that the enemy will come to steal it away from you. Matthew 13:20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.
This world teaches us to get ahead, build for yourself a better life. There always seems to be a competition in the things that we have. We want a better car, better house and other things. You may have heard the expression, “Be Like the Joneses.” Matthew 13:22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. The one thing that I am learning is that I don’t need or to ask for anything. My trust is in Jesus and He provides everything I need for His glory. 2 Peter 1:3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
Once you have gone through all those stages and have the spirit of understanding, you will bear fruit to God. All of heaven will be attracted to the Christ in you and your faith in Jesus will be complete, lacking nothing. This is the word, who is Jesus, sown on good ground. Matthew 13:23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
