This may surprise you to know that there are two laws in life. There is an obvious one, and the other is hidden. The obvious one is the law of sin and death. We all know that we will pass away from this body that we are in. To many, it’s living in this fleshly body. The world teaches that we are body, soul, and spirit. The scriptures tell us that we are spirit, soul, and body. There is a battle between flesh and spirit. Which one will you live from?
1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 7:25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
One of the two laws captures you, and the other sets you free. It’s the law of the spirit of life that is in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Paul is telling the Romans that life in the spirit of Christ Jesus is freedom. The law of sin and death is bondage. This is why Jesus came. To set us free from the bondage of the flesh. He came to give us life in the spirit and it more abundantly. He freed us from the bondage under which Adam was taken captive. For generations, we were born into that bondage. Many who have accepted Jesus’s message still refuse to be released from the bondage of sin and death. Sadly, many churches teach about bondage rather than freedom.
Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
If you are free from the bondage of sin, you will know it. Nothing would be impossible for you, because I can do all things THROUGH Christ who strengthens me. It is no longer I who lives, but Christ in me. Fleshly-minded is death, but spirit minded is life and peace. Here is the mystery that has been hidden from the foundation of the world, Christ in you the hope of glory. I have quoted all those scriptures to show you that if you live in the spirit by faith, you are living in Christ. Be blessed, my friend
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Romans 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: “But the righteous one will live by faith.”
