How many people do you know meditate on the goodness of God? Are the problems of this world, or the opportunities to share how good God is consuming you? Have you ever noticed that people in the scriptures keep mentioning the plagues of Egypt of how good God was to His people? I ask these questions to help you understand where your thought life is, whether good or bad.
Romans 2:4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
God never created for us to have negative thoughts. This came from eating the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The knowledge you are going after, is it for good or evil? Peter wrote that we are not to repay evil with evil or insult with insult. This is what the world teaches. God teaches that we are to repay evil with a blessing, do good to those who persecute you.
Genesis 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
There isn’t anything that God wouldn’t do for His people. He only knows to do good for those who are called according to His purpose. It’s not your purpose, but His. He showed His goodness by sending His Son to die on a cross in place of us to get us back to Him. His longing is for us to walk with Him. The only way to walk with God is in the spirit, as God is spirit. Paul writes to the church in Galatia to walk in the spirit. This is where life is with Him. Be blessed, my friends
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
