How many of you know the spirit of heaviness? Have you ever felt it? There is a constant spirit of heaviness, but heaviness can come on you so strong that you give in to sin. I have experienced this heaviness. I want you to be aware of it. This spirit is not your friend. He comes upon you to stop the Kingdom of God from ever coming to fruition. āCome to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.“
What is the remedy to the spirit of heaviness? Jesus’s mission statement discusses Him giving you the garment of gladness instead of the spirit of heaviness. “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach GOOD TIDINGS to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.” Spirit of heaviness is not of God. When he comes, rejoice in the Lord. Jesus has given us His authority over this spirit. His authority is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Know to wonder this spirit comes. He is trying to resist the Kingdom of Heaven from coming out of you. If you give in to this spirit, the Kingdom will stay dormant in you. Exercising the Kingdom of Heaven builds you up in faith, regardless if you don’t see any results. You do this by faith. āFor we walk by faith, not by sight.ā Those who believe live by faith. They were saved by grace through faith, and live by it. āFor by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.ā āFor I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it (the gospel) the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
I pray that your eyes of understanding be enlightened to the spirit of heaviness. When He comes rejoice in the Lord. āRejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.ā āRejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.ā Be blessed, my friends.
