Many don’t realize that fear controls them. Look at depression, anxiety, and others that put weight on your shoulders, but it doesn’t have to be this way. Fear came into this world through Adam and Eve. How do I know this? Take a look at their response when God was looking for them after they ate from the tree that they weren’t allowed to eat from. “And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” Fear makes you do crazy things.
There is something that a friend bought to my attention that is worth mentioning. Did you know that “Do not fear, “ is mentioned in some translations of the scriptures, 365 times? Interesting that the first response for people is to fear, but those who are Christians who follow Jesus and do what He has said, don’t fear. There aren’t very many that follow Jesus whole-heartily like that, I know of only a few. They understand that Jesus hasn’t given us a spirit of fear. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” These people that I know of don’t fear. They have come to the brink of death and have never moved. They remind me of the apostle Paul, who was beaten and whipped, thrown into prison, and yet was found sing hymns to the Lord in Acts 16. Also, Paul in Philippians, writing from prison writes, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy––meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” When Paul wrote to Timothy regarding God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, that power is from the Kingdom of God within us. “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.” Also, that scripture refers to love and a sound mind. When we are one with Christ we are in Perfect love. “ There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” For us to have a sound mind, we must think as Jesus did, and have the mind of Christ. “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” “For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” If we can combat every time fear tries to suggest something to us, we condemn that thought and make it obedient to Christ’s way of thinking. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.”
I pray that your eyes of understanding be enlightened to how the enemy uses fear against you. He is trying to stop the Kingdom from coming out of you. “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” Be blessed, my friends.
