This is satan’s goal is to keep you separate from God. If he is unsuccessful in accomplishing this then you will know Jesus and the power of His resurrection. Those who are joined to the Lord are One Spirit with Him. Now there are several ways that satan accomplishes this. Some are so ingrained in Christian teaching that you wouldn’t know that this is a strategy of satan.
Let’s look at the first and the most predominate strategy that he uses. Satan knows if he can convince you that you are a sinner, then you are separate from God. What you confess out of your mouth is what you are and what you get. The best example is Adam and Eve. They sinned and their sin separated them from God. We are all now born in the image of Adam and now we all need to be born again back to the Image of God. What I am talking about here is the fact that if you are a born again believer and have repented of your sins, then you are NO LONGER a sinner! If you confess you are a sinner saved by Grace, then you truly haven’t repented from your sins. If you believe Jesus when He said that He has authority on earth to forgive sins, and your are confessing that you still a sinner, then you really don’t believe.
There is a verse that satan uses to keep people separate from God. I hear this one all the time. When you read the verse, read it and don’t interject any thoughts other than what the verse actually says. 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Satan would want you to believe that you are a sinner, separate from God. But that’s not what the verse says. It says, “if you say you have no sin.” What in the heck is this referring to then? You have to go to the verse before to keep this in perspective. We don’t want to make a doctrine from a scripture. Or even worse take a group of single verses to prove your point. I believe Jehovah Witnesses do this. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. So now when I look at 1 John 1:8 it’s referring to the Blood of Jesus and not that you are a sinner.
Another tactic he uses to use the Word of God against you. In fact he did this with Jesus. He used Psalm 91 to get Jesus to tempt God. Satan wanted Jesus to throw Himself off a building. He told Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down.” You can even say that the paragraph before, satan is using the Word of God against you.
Satan will do whatever it takes to stop you. He will use family member, even the closest ones to you. Don’t believe me, check out what Jesus said to one of His closest disciples. Matthew 16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” He will uses your health against you. Whatever your dealing with regarding health, satan will always get you to question why aren’t you healed. If God said 1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed then I should be healed. Now if you believe your healed, live as though you are healed, confess from your mouth that you are healed then you have faith to be healed. If you question it, then you have no faith.
So you see how satan separates you from God. You are the only one who can separate you from God. You do have to wonder why would you go to such great lengths to separate us from God? Is there such a reward great reward to be united with God? Is satan trying to stop us from going back to His Image? Can the works that Jesus called us to do, do real damage to the kingdom of darkness? Now that you have seen some of what satan does, what are you going to do about it?
