2 Timothy 4:1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
As I was meditating on preach the Word, I began to think about how many preachers who preach, twist the Word of God to their benefit instead of the benefit of all. There are many who have their congregations confess that they are sinners, making sin lord instead of Jesus. There are those who believe that the Word is the Bible. But as I was meditating on this, the Lord spoke to me and said, “who is the Word?” All of a sudden the light came on! I said, “You are the Word!” Jesus is the Word made flesh. We are to preach Jesus and anything else is of the evil one. Jesus is the mediator between man and Father. When this particular seed died (Jesus), many will grow from that seed.
Now when you look at this, the Parable of Growing seed looks different doesn’t it. Mark 4:26 And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.” Let’s look at this seed. Matthew 13:31 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, 32 which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.” People look at the size of the seed but it’s about the strength of the seed. The mustard seed only needs 8 inches of rain to grow which is desert like conditions.
Can you imagine if you had faith in Jesus as a mustard seed? Matthew 17:14 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.” 17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. The reason why I bring this up is that when Jesus is preached, the Kingdom of Heaven is there to heal.
When you preach Jesus, you are preaching the revelation of Jesus Christ. Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” 14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock (revelation that Jesus is the Christ) I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (sounds like the Lord’s prayer)” 20 Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ. The church is built on the revelation of Jesus.
When you look at the life of the Apostles, they didn’t go around preaching the Bible or back then, the Torah. They preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Especially that He was raised from the dead. This is the Good News! Now the two can now be One in Christ! Many of them were killed for speaking this message. Be Blessed My Friends
