Those who are peacemakers are sons of God. Many seem think that this is between people. You would be incorrect. Jesus didn’t come to make peace between people, rather between man and God.

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.

Luke 12:14 But He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?”

Ephesians 2:14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

Jesus came to become one with those who would accept His message. You can’t accept part of His message. You are either in or out. Jesus offered Himself as a sacrifice so that anyone who believes in Him can be joined with Him and have peace with God. There is no peace without a union or covenant. Jesus’s blood is the new covenant, opening the door for anyone to freely choose to accept or reject Him. Jesus has done His part in this relationship. Now it’s up to everyone to decide their part.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Luke 22:20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.

Those who have accepted to become a peacemaker, proclaiming this good news, and are reconciling the world back to God. You will be persecuted for this message. The world doesn’t want to let go those who live here. Those who are faithful and true will continue to the end regardless of what the world throws at them including death.

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Matthew 24:9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Peacemakers have the peace of God, and as such, get to give away this peace wherever they go. If this peace isn’t accepted, it will return back to the person. The peace that people reject is God’s peace that He has for them. The gospel of peace is what we are to proclaim. Without this peace, what are people proclaiming?

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Matthew 10:11 “Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out. 12 And when you go into a household, greet it. 13 If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

Ephesians 6:15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
