Missing The Mark

How many of you have missed the mark when it comes to anything in your life? It’s not a surprise that after this happened you said you were sorry or made things right. Why do you think my Father is no different? How many of you have sinned against God? If you have asked for forgiveness from Him, do you not think He will forgive you? Peter asked Jesus how many times do I forgive? If we could just understand to live with forgiveness, we would overcome evil with good.

Matthew 6:14  For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Here is something that just came to me as I was writing this. He told me to look at 1 John 1:5 through 1 John 2:1. He tells me to look at how many times I see the word “If?” The word “If” is mentioned six times. It’s not about when you sin, but “if” you sin. There is a part of the church which teaches, we are all sinners. Those who are born into Adam are sinners, but those who are born again are not. We, as born-again believers are not worried about sin, but rejoice that we are free from its power over us. We rejoice in Christ because in Him we are a new creation. We don’t worry about missing the mark, we rejoice in helping others see the light so they can walk in the light as He is in the light.

1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. 2:1My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

The church today has things backward. Sin does not rule over us, we rule over sin. Sin is under our feet as it is under Jesus’s feet because He is in us. Until we awaken to righteousness and truly believe what Jesus has done, we will fall short of the glory of God. All authority has been given to Jesus and He lives in us. If we live through Him, we live through His authority. You will be able to do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Nothing will be impossible for you. Be blessed, my friends

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

1 Corinthians 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
