If the blood of Jesus doesn’t cover your sins, you cannot be saved. His love for you was proven at the cross. He was put to death for claiming who He is. He rose from the dead proving He is the Son of God. By believing that this did happen, Jesus allows us to participate in the resurrection. It’s called baptism. We die to our old way of thinking/living and come out with a new way of thinking/living. It’s called a new creation. We were all born into Adam through the water. The sack of water that your mother carried you in her. When the water breaks, the baby will soon be born. That’s why we are to be born again into Christ.
Romans 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Hebrews 10:19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
If you don’t believe that the blood covers your sins, what are you believing? Jesus’ authority on earth is to forgive sins. If you’re a believer and don’t believe that you are no longer a sinner, how do you forgive others when you can’t accept God’s love that covers a multitude of sins? This is where the devil has worked effectively in the church. He has convinced them that they are still sinners, but they are saved by grace. Not knowing that Jesus came to save sinners from their sins, religious people are convinced that they can only be saved when they die. They refuse to die for themselves which is the first prerequisite to following Jesus. This religious spirit is prominent in the church today.
Luke 5:22 But Jesus, aware of their thoughts, responded and said to them, “Why are you thinking this way in your hearts? 23 Which is easier, to say: ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, get up, and pick up your stretcher, and go home.” 25 And immediately he got up before them, and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home glorifying God. 26 And they were all struck with astonishment and began glorifying God. They were also filled with fear, saying, “We have seen remarkable things today!”
There is such freedom when you live free from sin. You will understand the peace that is beyond all understanding when you live free from sin. One thing that has been brought to my attention as I am writing this. Look throughout the new covenant. No one was called a sinner. Paul called himself that because of ignorance. Sinners were against the church not in it. Be blessed, my friends.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
