This is one of the most popular verses throughout the scriptures. There is a hidden gem in this verse that I have never seen before. Let’s look at this together.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. I underlined what stood out to me when I read this. Then the Lord spoke to me about this. He said, “If you believe in Him, then you will live through Him.” I was amazed by this and of course He is right. He proved this by using scripture. Romans 11:36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
Your life lived proves what you believe! The life Jesus lived proves what He believed. Also everyone who followed Jesus’ life proved what they believed. You can confess that Jesus is Lord, but from the heart, how you live your life, proves what you believe. Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus AND believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Are you confessing that your circumstances is lord or is Jesus Lord? If you are confessing of what you are going through, have you really denied yourself? Have you picked up your cross which is Jesus’ Righteousness? If you don’t believe that, how are you living through Him? If you believe that your cross is regarding suffering, how then are you denying yourself? Luke 9:23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. How can you follow Him if you haven’t picked up His Righteousness? Are you following sin or Jesus?
