The Kingdom of God is as if a man scatters seed on the ground Mark 4:26. People always tend to look at the seed. In the scriptures sometimes the seed is referred to as a mustard seed. Whatever seed is planted, it’s the condition of the soil determines how and if it grows. Let’s take a look at the soil as Jesus explained it
Matthew 13:19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” We see that it’s about the soil that receives the seed. If faith is as a mustard seed, lets look at the faith of Moses in the faith chapter. Hebrews 11:24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
Now that all of this has been said, it’s the condition of your heart to how the Kingdom of God grows. When you hear preaching, do you get tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine? Do you hear the kingdom of Heaven preached? Matthew 10:7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Are the people preaching to you even believe this? Have they freely received the Kingdom so they can give the Kingdom? This is the seed which is scattered.
God can change your heart from a heart of stone (like Pharaoh), to a heart of flesh towards God. That’s right, towards God. Saul thought he was coming against the people but he was coming against Jesus. Like Jesus said Matthew 25:40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Ezekiel put it this way. Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. So you have to ask yourself, what is the condition of my heart towards God?
Do you continuously to tell yourself, you are a sinner or do you confess that you are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (this is done in the spirit doing what is good and doing what is right). This is what happens to you when you confess you are a sinner (hate) or you are the Righteousness of God (Love). 1 Timothy 1:5 Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith.
