Did you know that you are a house built for a King? Do you not know that Christ is in you? He is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords. He is also the King of Righteousness and the King of peace. So when the King moves in, He wants to renovate. He wants to move out the old, to bring in the new. A new way of thinking, a new way of living, a new way of how you deal with people, and a new way of how you deal with God to mention a few. Being a Christian or a follower of Jesus is the opposite than what this world teaches. Jesus mentions that you have heard it said, but I say to you. It’s a new way of life because you are a new creation.
2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
You may ask yourself, “How do I get rid of the old?” That is simple but difficult to do. See yourself separate from the old. Give you an example. The devil teaches that we are still sinners just like he is because we are fleshly beings. On the contrary, we see ourselves separate from sin as Jesus paid for our sins. We are no longer sinners if we have repented and are born again. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Jesus died so you can prove to the world that He is the Son of God. He is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword. If you can’t prove through your life that Jesus rose from the dead, how do you expect others to believe? If you are confessing, but not living, then you are not a believer. Believers just don’t have faith, they live it because they believe it.
Colossians 3:8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.
The house that you are in is to be built on a solid foundation. Having your life dedicated to Jesus is a house built on a rock. Not dedicating to your way of thinking, or how He can bless you. It’s all about you loving Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. If you make it about yourself, then you aren’t loving God. The cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke your growth in Christ. It takes your focus off of Jesus and on this world. My friends, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by renewing your mind so that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Be blessed, my friends
Matthew 7:24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
