Many in the church today believe that they are sinners. To obtain holiness is something that doesn’t even cross their minds. They are not even going after holiness, not realizing that without holiness no one will see the Lord. Holiness is most discussed in my favorite book of the Bible, Leviticus. In Leviticus, the Lord was telling the people of Israel, who had just come out of Egypt, how to live holy to the Lord. We are to live holy to the Lord.
Hebrews 12:14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
Leviticus 11:45 For I am the Lord who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
Leviticus 20:26 And you shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.
Holiness may seem like an impossible task, but most have already obtained holiness, and do not even know it. On your own, you can’t obtain holiness, but if you are one with Jesus, then you have obtained it. If you are joined to the Lord, you are holy as He is holy. It’s your union with Him that makes you holy.
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
Romans 11:16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,
When Jesus presents you, you are holy, blameless and above reproach. Paul wrote in Romans that we are to present our bodies holy and acceptable to God, for this is your reasonable service. It is through our union with Jesus that accomplishes it. On our part, we do this by faith. In today’s comparison, faith is considered a wedding ring. Without faith it’s impossible to please God. It is His good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is Jesus. Jesus is the King of righteousness, and the King of peace. Be blessed, my friends.
Colossians 1:22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Luke 12:32 Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
