How many congregations do you know teach freedom from sin? Sin is the very enemy of God. Sin keeps you away and separates you from God. Jesus came to break that bondage from sin so you can have peace with God. Without peace, you cannot be saved. Jesus was first the prince of peace, then He became King of peace. It’s the gospel of peace that we are to preach. The church needs to preach the gospel of peace.

Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

The Israelites that came out of Egypt had been in severe bondage. Moses had to teach them freedom from bondage. How many pastors/teachers teach freedom from sin? Paul taught in Romans 6 that if you sin you are its slave. He was reiterating what Jesus said in John 8. If you are still a slave to sin, you haven’t resisted the devil. If you haven’t resisted the devil then you can’t submit to God. The scriptures read that we are to submit to God, resist the devil (sin), and he will flee from us. Resisting sin is the key to freedom. Without resistance, you will never know your full potential in Christ.

John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” 33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” 34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

The only power the devil has over you is what you give him. If you take away his power which is sin, then he is a defeated foe. The cost was very high for your freedom. Jesus laid down His life so you can be free from sin. This is how much Father loves you. He sent Jesus because He wants your freedom. He has done His part, will you do yours? Have peace with God. Be blessed, my friends

Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
Your God reigns!

Psalms 40:9 I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness
In the great assembly;
Indeed, I do not restrain my lips,
O Lord, You Yourself know.
