I have heard many say that they have faith, but I don’t see evidence of it. To even have faith, you have to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. There’s no room for anxiety or depression. You are consumed with God’s love and your faith works through that love. In a nutshell, your love for God determines your faith. Faith can only work through love. In the absence of love is the absence of faith. Also if there is no action to faith, it’s not faith. Faith without works is dead.
Romans 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
Galatians 5:5 For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Paul summed faith with love by telling the Corinthians that even if you have all faith and you don’t have love, you have nothing! Love is that important. You can confess you love God, but the accusation from satan is that you love yourself more than God. He will hit you with everything to see if it’s just a confession, or if you really will love God regardless of what happens to you. Look at Job. He loved God even when his family was being killed, his livelihood was being destroyed. Even Job’s health took a hit, and yet Job’s love for God never changed. Job never accused God of any wrongdoing. Does this sound like you? The law wasn’t even introduced until Moses. Job lived in the time of Abraham. How much of a greater promise do we have?
1 Corinthians 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
Job 1:8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” 9 So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? 10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11 But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” 12 And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
I pray that you will grow in love for God so your faith in Him can grow alongside you. This is not to condemn you for not loving God, but I wrote this so you can see that you have a destiny. That destiny is to realize that you have Christ in you, and the hope is that you will live for Him. Be blessed, my friends
1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 14:1 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
