There are many Christian who want to hear God’s voice, but they don’t realize that distractions stop you from hearing His Voice. I want to share with you what the Lord has taught me to help you grow in hearing His voice.
I am going to use the parable of the sower explained, to show you how you are being distracted. Matthew 13:18 “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom ( you have to remember that the Word of God is NOT the Bible, it is Jesus), and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart (These people don’t have discernment to tell the difference who is speaking to them. People that don’t believe that Jesus is Lord so it easy to take what was given to them). This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. (these people get excited to hear Jesus talk to them but when things happen in their lives that they don’t like, they tend to blame God. It’s hard to hear Him when you are blaming Him) 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. (These people fall right into the devil trap. He tried this with Jesus by telling Him I will give you all these riches if you bow down and worship me. Also, the devil will use sickness and disease so you can’t hear Jesus. Look at what’s happening today. The devil will get you to believe that you are suffering from depression, anxiety, stress etc. so you can’t hear Jesus)23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, (These are those who know Jesus voice and follow Him. Nothing else matters, but to hear His voice and do what He says. Faith comes by hearing, hearing the voice of Jesus (The Word of God)) who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” If you heard Jesus speak to you, your faith would increase so much. I haven’t seen anyone’s faith increase by hearing the Bible.
The enemy will use many ways to distract you and you don’t even know he is doing this. He might come against a family member to try to stop you. Using sickness or disease. One great way he uses is to get people to offend you. Let’s look at how he did this to Judas. John 12:1 Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead. 2 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. 3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. 4 ( This is where Judas was offended, a disciple, and betrayed Jesus. He was so offended that he accepted 1/10th of the 300. 30 pieces of silver) But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said, 5 “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it. 7 But Jesus said, “Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial. 8 For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.” So do you believe that Judas was hearing what Jesus was saying/ He heard His voice, but when you are offended, it’s hard to hear Jesus. If Judas really heard Jesus, he wouldn’t have done what he did.
When you walk in Love, it’s easy to hear Him. 1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. 5 It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered, 6 it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. If you have truly heard the Gospel of Peace you would be growing in peace. Look at Jesus. His cousin John get’s his head chopped off. Jesus had the power to take out Herod, but Jesus knew it wasn’t Herod. It was the spirit that Herod was listening too. Pay attention to what Jesus did after that. He went and prayed, He healed people then He feed 5,000 people and walked on water. He stayed in the spirit and didn’t walk in the lust of the flesh. Who you are listening to is a distraction. This is why the Lord doesn’t want me to listen to any sermons but just spend time with Him and listen to His voice only. He told me that what is coming is going to be very good. Very good was said after God made everything before the fall.
Is this possible to live this way today? All things are possible to those who believe. Do you believe?
