Many in Christian circles don’t know the Covenant of Peace. This covenant was first given to Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, who turned the wrath of God away against the people of Israel. There was a plague going through Israel because of the harlotry with the women of Moab. They also sacrificed to the gods of Moab as well. Phinehas, in his zeal for the Lord, saw what was done in all the people’s sight, and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel. The Lord gave him the covenant of peace to him and his descendants for an everlasting priesthood.

Numbers 25:10 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 11 “Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal. 12 Therefore say, ‘Behold, I give to him My covenant of peace13 and it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.’ ”

The Covenant of Peace is ever mentioned four times in the scriptures. All four times were in the old testament. Every time it is mentioned, it’s covenant between man and God. God is a God of peace. He wants us to do what is good and what is right before His eyes if we want to be with Him in heaven. His love is so strong that He sent His Son to pay the price for sin so we can again become one with Him like it was intended in the beginning. Jesus gave His disciples this Covenant of Peace when He told them, “My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Peace is a fruit of the spirit. It’s also part of the Kingdom. If you are in peace, you are in the Kingdom. Peacemakers are sons of God. We are to have peace with man and God.

Ephesians 2:14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

I hope you understand peace, it’s the way of the Kingdom. Be blessed, my friends

Romans 3:17 And the way of peace they have not known.
