If the power of God is not there, do you really have Him? “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.” Jesus not only spoke the Word, He demonstrated it. “Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods”’? If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.” The only reason someone doesn’t do the works is because someone has convinced them not to. “But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe––and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?” “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
Many today are convinced that there is no work after being saved. You are not saved by works, but you are saved to do good works. Because many are convinced they are still sinners, they are not to do any works to keep their salvation. This is far from the truth. O how far men have fallen. First, you have been saved from sin. “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.” Second, you have been saved for good works. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Going back to an earlier scripture, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” People tend to do things backwards. Your confession is faith and you are baptized into the Kingdom. Then you exercise the Kingdom until your faith is established. “But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
I pray that your eyes of understanding be enlightened to what you have. I pray that you exercise your God given right to be a son of God. “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Be blessed, my friends.
