I don’t know if you have noticed this, but Jesus controlled His emotions when things came against Him. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. This the religious leaders called blaspheme and wanted Him to be put to death for that. Jesus’ only response was that He is. They put Him to death for that. How do you react when things come against you, like a Christian? The ones who look like Christ. Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, surrendering to Jesus and living through His life does.

John 5:16 For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath. 17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” 18 Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.

Matthew 26:59 Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, 60 but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward 61 and said, “This fellow said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.’ ” 62 And the high priest arose and said to Him, “Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?” 63 But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!” 64 Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.” 65 Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy! 66 What do you think?” They answered and said, “He is deserving of death.”

There is one thing that the church does today as the religious leaders did back then. Jesus said that He was working and He has to work to make Himself equal to God. They didn’t understand that a man Jesus, can walk and live through God who is in Him. To them this is blaspheme. Today, we have Jesus living inside us. If we do the works that Jesus did, He is working with us, this makes us equal to Jesus. Jesus prayed that we would be one with Him. So why would it be strange for Christ-like ones (Christians) to be equal to Jesus? When you let your light shine before men, whose light do you think you are shining, yours? Jesus is the light of men. As you live through Him, you will become more like Him.

John 10:30 I and My Father are one. 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?” 33 The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.” 34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), 36 do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? 37 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me38 but if I do, though you do not believe Mebelieve the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”

I hope and pray that your life is a testimony to Jesus. How you lived your life for Him. It’s your testimony of what Jesus has done through your life that overcomes the enemy. The blood of the Lamb, word of your testimony and you don’t even your own life even to the point of death. My friends, don’t let your emotions rule you but let the peace of Christ rule in your heart. Be blessed, my friends

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ, to which you were indeed called in one body, rule in your hearts; and be thankful.
