Life in the spirit is amazing once you understand if you are in the spirit or not. To live from the spirit is one of the most basic things to do, but yet, it’s one of the most difficult things to do..
I found the easiest was to know that you are in the spirit is to pray in tongues. From that place you are praying from is the spirit. That’s where you live from. Circumstances will arise to get you out of the spirit and back into the flesh. This where the struggle is. The old man, who is your flesh, wants to dominate your life. The new man on the other hand, wants to be in control of your life. The new man is your spirit man.
Acts 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
1 Corinthians 14:18 I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all;
Ephesians 4:20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
As you are living in the spirit, you will notice the fruits of the spirit coming out of you. . People around you are effected by the spirit you walk in as the light effects everything. One thing that the Lord brought to my attention is the Lord’s prayer. Specifically, “Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from the evil one.” When you are walking in the spirit, the temptation is to get you out and into the flesh. This is where the evil one can fight you. He can’t touch you in the spirit as you are one with Jesus in the spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
Matthew 6:13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
The people closet to your heart are the ones that can get you out of the spirit. I have learned the hard way, that the closest ones can hurt you the most. One thing I want to stress to you about this. DO NOT LET THIS HARDEN YOUR HEART TOWARDS THEM! Regardless of what they have done, forgive them and yourself. Unforgiveness will eat away at you and destroy God’s call on your life. All the enemy has to do is go after a spouse, and then the whole family is easily destroyed. He proved this with Adam and Eve. Notice that the devil didn’t go against Adam, but Eve. Use this opportunity to grow in the spirit. Let me give you a great example of this growth. Many of you who read the scriptures know that John the Baptist had his head chopped off. He was Jesus’ cousin. Pay attention to what Jesus did after hearing of what happened to John. He went and prayed. Is that all that happened? No! Jesus feed 5000 people and walked on walk because He stayed in the spirit. This life in the spirit is amazing. I hope this blog blessed you.
